COMMUNITY IMPACT TEAM APPLICATION (2010-2011 Season)

We are thrilled that you’re interested in lending your talents to Kids in the Spotlight, Inc. (KITS). We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a unique arts program to children in foster care and public schools throughout the City of Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

KITS IS AN OUTLET FOR KIDS TO TELL THEIR OWN STORIES.

KITS trains underserved youth to develop, write, cast and star in their own short films. The program culminates in the annual Movies By Kids, For Kids Film Festival competition where their work is showcased and awards for outstanding achievement are presented.

We are entering our second season and looking for dedicated team members to assist in the following areas:

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A KITS-CIT MEMBER?

➢ Training: All team members are required to attend at least one training/orientation session per season. The orientation/training session is your opportunity to meet the staff and learn more about the program.
➢ Time: PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBERS: We ask that you to commit to a minimum of one production location per calendar year. Your total time commitment at that location is based upon your position and may range from 2 days up to 9 weeks. ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM MEMBERS: We ask that you commit to a minimum of six consecutive months per calendar year. ALL TEAM MEMBERS: These are our general guidelines, but we encourage you to contribute as much time as you are able and willing.
➢ Punctuality: We strive for excellence in everything we do and that means being punctual. Tardiness and no-shows send a very clear message to our kids. We require that call times are honored with all diligence. We understand that emergencies arise and schedules change, but we expect that every effort be made to communicate those changes as far in advance as possible.
➢ Communication: We ask our team members to exhibit patience with our participants and our process. We are a new organization working with young people. Open, clear and professional communication ensures a positive experience for all.
